For those wishing to relax or stay at our Sarlat campsite, there’s no shortage of activities on site: swimming pool, badminton court, table soccer, pétanque court, ping-pong table, children’s playground with slide and much more. We lend you all the equipment you need to have fun with family and friends.
Cultural outings in the Dordogne
Tèrra Aventura in the Dordogne, 6 fun-filled outings for families and friends, near Sarlat-la-Canéda. Embark on geocaching adventures with the Poïz, and discover the Périgord in a whole new way.
In Sarlat’s historic center, you’ll discover all the historic monuments on the theme of gastronomy. The course is easy and 2.5km long.
For a nature walk lasting around 2 h 30, head for Saint-Crépin and Carlucet. A journey through the history of the two communes awaits you, in a verdant setting.
Things to do in Périgord
Accrobranche Les Écureuils
6 kilometers from our Sarlat campsite, discover the ” La Forêt des écureuils ” tree-climbing course . Enjoy the freshness of the Périgord forests, while taking part in a sporting activity that’s accessible from an early age.
The park offers 11 courses with 3 levels of difficulty, including 3 zip lines 170 m and 400 m long. There’s a toddler course for children aged 2 and over, so even the youngest can have fun.
There’s also paintball and a via ferrata with 7 zip lines.
Canoeing and kayaking
The Dordogne has no fewer than five navigable rivers: the Dordogne, Vézère, Isle, Auvézère and Dronne. So you’ll find canoe rental bases dotted along every river bank.
Near Les Chalets du Périgord, you can sail on the Dordogne, choosing the length of your trip. While paddling, admire the vegetation, cliffs and castles such as Beynac and Castelnaud.
For a wilder, more tranquil walk, we recommend the Vézère and its prehistoric valley. Let yourself be carried along by the river, and stop off in the village of Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, then admire the troglodyte villages.
A hot-air balloon ride
Near Sarlat, take to the skies and discover the Périgord Noir as you’ve never seen it before. Take a hot-air balloon ride and admire the valley of the Dordogne castles and many other must-see sites in the region from the sky.
You can take off from La Roque-Gageac with ” Les Montgolfières du Périgord “, board the gondola of ” Périgord Dordogne Montgolfière ” in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle or take a balloon flight with ” Montgolfière et Châteaux ” in Beynac.
In the Périgord, you can also go paragliding, take a helicopter ride, fly over the most beautiful tourist sites or parachute.
Escape Game
Just a few kilometers from Sarlat, several towns in the Dordogne have their own Escape Game. New ones have just opened their doors. For an intense hour, solving riddles, searching every nook and cranny and uncovering the mystery, visit one of Périgord’s Escape Games.
We’ll take you on a guided tour of Périgueux and its historic center. In Bergerac, the escape game offers two rooms on the themes of wine and cabaret.
The Dordogne’s many castles will entertain you with their intrigues. Solve the mystery of the White Lady, through the rooms of Château de Puymartin, or discover Bourdeilles and Marzac.
Via Ferrata
With earth, sky and water, set off on a via ferrata, a mix of hiking and climbing, in the heart of Périgord. Numerous nature trails are accessible to beginners and advanced riders alike.
The ” Via Ferrata des rapaces ” in Vézac is a 200-meter long acrobatic cliff course, equipped with a continuous lifeline, for a thrilling discovery in complete safety. Climb the rock face in the Dordogne Valley and discover breathtaking scenery. Equipped with harness and helmet, discover the beauty of the region.
Near Sarlat, you can also enjoy this activity at the “Jardins de Marqueyssac” and the “La Forêt des Écureuils” tree-climbing park.
